Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 1. Monitor grants activity to ensure compliance with grant requirements. Provide monthly or quarterly updates to Director of Grants and/or executive leadership as appropriate on the programmatic performance of existing grants. 

2. Develop, implement, and maintain reporting systems to ensure information required to be reported to granting agencies is collected timely and accurately. Maintain data to allow for financial analysis, cost reporting, budgeting, and report writing. 

3. Ensure timely gathering of data in preparation and submission of applications and reports in accordance with specific grant requirements by coordinating with applicable departments as appropriate. 

4. Research opportunities for applying for grants that CHSI may be eligible to obtain. Assist as appropriate in preparation of grant applications. 

5. Produce and maintains calendar of grant activity. 

6. Report all funding opportunities, awards, and denials to Director of Grants and/or executive leadership as appropriate. 

7. Maintains updates and/or compiles all granting resource data, documents, reports and materials required for annual needs assessments 

8. Ensures current programs and statistics are accurately represented and that all relevant information is current, medically accurate, and evidence-based. 

9. Perform all other duties as directed either formally or informally, verbally, or in writing.  

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Knowledge of grant information sources. 
  • Knowledge of basic grant techniques and strategies. 
  • Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospects. 
  • Strong document management skills. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. 
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office. 
  • Excellent time management skills, aptitude for proper task prioritization, and a results-oriented work process. 
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with divergent groups. 
  • Must possess excellent customer service including verbal and written communication. 
  • A high standard of professionalism and professional ethics and conduct is expected in speech, manner, attitude and appearance at all times. 
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.  
  • Ability to deal effectively with changing situations and stressful environment.  
  • Ability to perform tasks related to physical activity to complete the responsibilities of the position. 

 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: 

  • Previous FQHC experience and Grant Coordination/Assistance required. 
  • Three years’ experience with grant writing and management with a proven track record on raising money from foundation and government sources. 
  • Program development experience preferred. 
  • Previous experience with non-profit fundraising. 
  • Must be able to travel locally. 
  • Current CA Driver’s License and proof of automobile insurance 
Summary

JOB SUMMARY: 

The Grants Coordinator will support the Director of Grants in managing both existing and new grants by conducting data research, assisting with grant application writing, tracking grants, creating internal reporting systems, writing reports, and maintaining accurate historical records. This role will also involve disseminating grant award information to staff and collaborating with teams to ensure that projects and programs meet the conditions and expectations outlined in the proposals.
