Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Behavioral Health or designee, the Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) will provide assessments and psychotherapy for clients who are in need of mental health services and have been referred by behavioral health clinicians, primary care providers, case managers and other DAP Health programs for individual, couples, or group psychotherapy.

Job Status: Full-time, Salaried Exempt

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provides comprehensive mental health assessments, including DSM-V diagnoses and treatment recommendations.
  • Develops a treatment plan in collaboration with the client, including short and long-term treatment goals while monitoring their progress.
  • Provides individual, couples, and/or group therapy as needed to clients with mental health and/or co-occurring disorders.
  • Completes all documentation required by DAP Health and the client’s insurance (if applicable), in a timely manner.
  • When appropriate, refers clients for psychiatric evaluation, substance abuse evaluation and intensive outpatient programs, etc.
  • Accesses patient-protected health information as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Skill in utilizing various forms of psychotherapy, including cognitive/behavioral, interpersonal, dialectical behavioral, etc.

Education and Experience:

  • Active and unrestricted California licensed clinical social worker (LCSW).
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross accredited BLS certification.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working in a clinical setting as a psychotherapist.
  • Experience:
    • Using an Electronic Health Record (EHR).
    • Working with individuals with co-occurring disorders.
    • Working in LGBTQ community, preferred.
    • Working in an FQHC, preferred.
    • Working with persons affected by substance use, preferred.
  • Current Medicare provider, preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift 24 pounds.
  • Operates in an office/clinical setting and requires frequent times of sitting, standing, repetitive motion and talking.
  • Job may expose employee occasionally or in emergencies to blood, body fluids, non-intact skin or tissue specimens.
