JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Training Supervisor and Director of Operations, the EMR Systems Trainer is responsible for successfully implementing and supporting the EMR system by becoming a subject matter expert in the functionality of the electronic medical records and electronic practice management systems. Serve as main point of contact and application subject matter expert for the Physicians, RN’s, MA’s and, Non-clinical Staffs during the implementation process and post implementation process; on site go-live support and post implementation. This position will assist with design, develop of training content and conduct large or small scale trainings to enhance employee skills ensuring proper workflow and system accuracy are met by each employee in the clinics.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Upholds and supports the mission, philosophy, objectives, policies and ethics of CHSI.
  2. Will smile; speak in a courteous and friendly manner with patients, staff members and clients.
  3. Conduct all training on electronic medical records systems (EMR).
  4. Select or develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.
  5. Assist employees with problems concerning “how to” perform specific tasks related to their position.
  6. Conduct organization wide needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed in the EMR systems.
  7. Prepare educational aids and materials.
  8. Make suggestions on improving work procedures
  9. Assess instructional effectiveness and summarize evaluation reports determining the impact of training on employee skills and how it affects key performance indicators.
  10. Partner with other departments and liaise with matter experts regarding instructional design.
  11. Maintain updated curriculum and training records.
  12. Assist other departments in the completion of the special projects that support organizational goals.
  13. Perform all other duties as directed either formally or informally, verbally or in writing.
Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical data, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with divergent groups
  • Must possess good “customer service” including verbal and written communication.
  • A high standard of professionalism and professional ethics and conduct is expected in speech, manner, attitude and appearance at all times.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to deal effectively with changing situations and stressful environment.
  • Ability to perform tasks related to physical activity to complete the responsibilities of the position.

 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Requires an EMR experience, Education, Training, or related field background generally equivalent to an AA degree.
  • 1-2 years of training experience of increasing variety and/or complexity OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
