Human Resources Learning Collaborative
The Association kicked off this new initiative by hosting two (2) HR Learning
Collaborative sessions in 2019. The first session took place on August 22 ,

2019 and had 10 attendees from 7 different member organizations. This
meeting was hosted in collaboration with Bolton & Company, an employee-
owned insurance broker that provides insurance and risk management
services, employee benefits and financial products to organizations. Bolton
& Company gave a presentation that aimed to facilitate discussion among
the different organizations, shared data and trends surrounding employee
benefits, and provided actionable ideas to the Association and member
organizations.
The second HR Learning Collaborative session was held on November 18 ,

2019. This session had 13 attendees from 8 different organizations. This
meeting was hosted in partnership with Hackler Flynn & Associates, an
employment defense attorney firm. The purpose of this presentation was to
explore policies and laws surrounding leave of absence, employees vs.
independent contractors, class action waivers and arbitration, sexual
harassment training, minimum pay requirements, increase in statute of
limitations, settlement agreements with employees, and lactation
accommodation for nursing moms.
