Workforce Development and Competency
The Community Health Association Inland Southern Region (Association) continues to be a champion for
the development of the healthcare workforce in our communities. The Association manages the
designated and federally-recognized Inland Empire Area Health Education Center (AHEC). Through
collaborations with members, community-based organizations and pipeline programs, the Inland Empire
AHEC works to address the needs of our membership and the healthcare professions shortage in the
area.
In 2019, the work performed by the Inland Empire AHEC included facilitating the delivery of public health
trainings to clinic providers, staff and public health professionals in community health centers and other
sites caring for the underserved.
